The efficacy of ibuprofen and GSM-1 on selectively decreasing Aβ42 in vitro. Total amyloid beta-peptide (Aβ) and Aβ42 levels in conditioned media from cells stably expressing wild-type APP751 (APP-WT) and cells stably expressing APP751 with the Val717Phe familial AD mutation (APP-V717F) after drug incubation for 24 h were evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) and ratios were compared.
