Positron emission tomography (PET) images (colour scale in the centre) were acquired in 90-minute scans after bolus injection of 370 MBq [11C]Pittsburgh Compound B ([11C]PIB). The magnetic resonance (MR) images were co-registered to the PET images. Visual inspection reveals an increased uptake of [11C]PIB in the cortical areas of the AD patient and no obvious difference in the cerebellum compared with the control subject.
