Methazolamide, melatonin, and Trolox induce Nrf2 activation in primary neurons. Cortical neuron cultures were challenged with various concentrations of Aβ42 (0–1 μM) in the presence or absence of either MTZ (300 μM), MEL (100 μM), or Trolox (300 μM) and Nrf2 assessed by immunofluorescence microscopy as in Fig. 7. Immunofluorescence images depict Nrf2 nuclear translocation (green signal) and neurofilament protein staining (red fluorescence); bar, 25 μm in all images. The graph illustrates the Nrf2 activity in nuclear extracts evaluated by ELISA. Bars represent mean ± SEM of triplicate experiments. **p < 0.01 and ***p < 0.001
