Altered levels of sorting nexin-4 (SNX4) and β-site amyloid precursor protein-cleaving enzyme 1 (BACE1) in the brains of APP/PS1 mice. Immunohistochemistry was performed using anti-BACE1 (red) and anti-SNX4 (green) antibodies in wild-type and APP/PS1 mice aged 6 months and 24 months. The intensity of BACE1 and SNX4 in neurons is increased in the cortices of 6-month-old APP/PS1 mice compared with wild-type mice. The intensity of BACE1 and SNX4 in neurons is decreased in the cortices of 24-month-old APP/PS1 mice compared with wild-type mice. Scale bar = 20 μm
